How does bot scoring work?

Every point traces to a documented profile check. Risk prioritizes review — it does not prove an account is a bot.

Follower / following ratio

Following more than 400 accounts with fewer than 10 followers per 100 accounts followed adds risk.

Age vs. volume

An account under roughly 200 days old with more than 3,000 posts adds age-and-volume risk.

Aggressive following

Following more than 800 accounts at over four times the follower count — or more than 1,500 with under 20 followers — adds risk.

Also scored: average posting rate, bio signals, username patterns. Verified accounts get a −10 credit when score > 0.

Is ClankerBlocker safe to use with my X account?

ClankerBlocker uses official X OAuth for identity and permissions, so you never share your X password. Graph scans load Following and Followers through our graph pipeline (a third-party list provider first, with official X API fallback) using the access you grant. Optional paced unfollow needs follows.write and runs only when you start it on Following accounts (confirm; labels stay independent). The app never requests posting, DM, block, or mute access. How does the bot scoring work?

Every account is scored across six documented signal groups: follower/following ratio, account age vs. post volume, average posting rate, aggressive following, bio signals, and username patterns. The point-by-point breakdown appears beside the account — no hidden model.

How accurate is the bot score?

The score prioritizes risk; it does not prove that an account is a bot. Profile heuristics can produce false positives, so review the evidence before labeling or acting. Paid plans include fresh per-account deep checks for borderline cases. How scoring works →

Can it unfollow accounts for me?

The default workflow is review and export. On Following only, optional one-click unfollow can process accounts from your latest scan — confirm each action, paced about 18 seconds apart, capped, and off until you run it. Labels stay independent of writes. ClankerBlocker never posts, DMs, blocks, or mutes.

Can it remove fake followers from my account?

No bulk remove-followers workflow is provided. For Followers, review the evidence and export a CSV cut pack for action on X. Automated unfollow is available only for accounts you follow, never for removing followers, and block/mute automation is out of scope. Sign in with X →

What data do you access and store?

X OAuth identifies your account and authorizes the scopes shown during connection. ClankerBlocker retrieves Following and Followers list and profile data through our graph pipeline (third-party list provider first, official X API fallback), then stores scan snapshots, scores, and labels for history and Graph Health. Optional unfollow uses follows.write only when you run it. Signed-in members can delete their account in Help (typed handle + confirm). Waitlist-only rows: Contact with your handle.
